What would we do without a world to work with because as men we have many examples of what is the world underground. People tend to like the underground to store their many things and thus the world of the underground is the world below the grade of normal and I call that subhaus.

The purpose of subhaus is to find examples of people who want things below to be the answer to the problem of the above world when the above world is being filled up so the world and its future leave us who are poor out of the story.

It is possible to live below and it is possible that we can find lighting that will provide for us life even if that seems impossible to live without a star overhead both day and night.

I believe that the world of the underground home is the subhaus of the future for those who wish to dream of things that might be possible. It doesn’t have to be cold, dangerous and old with nothing but stones to see in all directions. It can be a world filled with brightness and people. It can become new real estate for the people of a planet searching for a way to deal with the problem of too many people in or on  or within the world above or the land below.

We must see that the homeless search for an answer that will provide a home or a place to walk the world to explore and that is the dream of subhaus.

Underground homes are homes covered to the degree that they are covered by earth or by stone. The only parts that might stick up could be ventilation shafts, entrances or exits, skylights and so on. Thus the value of an underground home is its hidden nature and its ability to keep you warm in cold climates or comfortable to hot climates. Though it does have some similarities with earth sheltered it tries to go a step beyond and that is to give further protection against nature and man.

William Lishman-designer and artist he and his family have built a self designed, igloo shaped domes that interconnect into one another allowing a flow from room to room. It is well thought out and is underground.
